The "Chemistry" department gives classes of Chemistry
I, Chemistry II, and Basic Engineering Laboratory, all of which are the
basic subjects of special study. In Chemistry I, the students learn general
chemistry for the foundation of engineering study, while in Chemistry II,
emphasis of the lesson is shifted to the application of chemistry to engineering.
The Basic Engineering Laboratory consists of physical
experiments and chemical experiments. In the chemical experiments, the
students understand the state of materials and the real nature of change
through experiments and observations. In engineering, materials are treaded
by using some other materials. Therefore, believing that learning chemistry,
which is science on the properties of materials and the real nature of
change, is essential, intensive education is provided to the students.
