In the division of "Humanities and Social Science," three
full-time exclusive faculty members, three full-time non-exclusive faculty
members and part-time lecturers take care of the subjects related to Humanities

Sciences (Political Science, Economics, Sociology, Law).
Thanks to the development of technologies and technology-applied
industries, our life has become very rich in terms of the material aspect.
However, as seen in recent problems, such as the AUM Shinrikyo cult case,
the killing and wounding cases by junior and senior high students, the
recession, and the bankrupcies of financial institutions, there is a feeling
of unrest in our society. In order for us to exactly grasp with these problems
of human mind and social system, we should have a deep insight into them.
In this sense, "Humanities and Social Science" dealing with human beings
and human society can be said to be more and more important. What is more,
the ways of analysis and synthesis which "Humanities and Social Science"
adopt to understand human beings and the world are also indispensable to
every other academic study. In "Humanities and Social Science," students
are required not only to acquire the knowledge of each subject but also
to learn academic attitude.
Also the department of "Humanities and Social Science"
holds a series of human science seminars jointly with the department of
Health and Physical Education etc. for senior students on the health care,
mind care and business organization and system for working members of society.
Several faculty members give a lecture in relay having opportunities of
free discussion with students. These seminars are highly recommended to
those students who are going to start working the next spring.
