Thorough buildup of a grounding in electrical engineering
for creation and development in the future
Electricity is said to be an ideal
energy form because of its easy transmission and control. In fact, it is
used as motive power to sustain all the industries and affluent human society.
Currently, saving energy is one of the world themes. Looking for the effective
use of energy and the development of new power generation methods, for
example, there are ever-increasing expectations of electrical engineering.
What is important in the electrical engineering field,
which is developing every moment, is to build up the ability to think and
technics to meet the requirements of the times.
The first step toward this end is to learn the basic
science. To be able to understand electrical phenomena, it is important
to acquire basic knowledge of electromagnetic phenomena and electric circuitry
as well as mathematics and physics.
For this reason, the students of the Department of Electrical
Engineering thoroughly learn from a grounding in electrical engineering
to its applications at the class of basic electricity. At the same time,
they acquire a wide range of expertise and technics of electric power engineering,
including power generation and transformation, energy exchange, automatic
power control, applied power, and electronic engineering, including plasma,
electronics, and electronic materials. Also, they learn disciplines other
than electricity, such as mechatronics, which is a combination of electronics
with mechanical elements. Through such learning, the students are shown
how the foundation of science is led to today's advanced applied technologies.
The curriculum for practical education contains abundant
experiments and practices so that the students can specifically understand
theories. At the same time, as importance is attached to the information
processing education, the students can use the Information Processing Center
in the campus to learn the computer knowledge of all levels from the basic
to the applied.
For the graduation research, the senior students conduct
the state-of-the-art research, such as microwaves, optical devices, plasma,
superconductivity, and the development of new electromagnetic materials,
to attain the expertise and techniques that are necessary in society.
Today, electrical engineering sustains all the industries.
Electricians in all the industries are requested to have the electrical
techniques of various industries other than the industry they belong to.
This is a reason why DIT lays stress on the education system that enables
the students to systematically acquire the knowledge of various fields.
With regard to the applications for qualified chief electrical
engineers, DIT is an institute authorized by the Agency of Natural Resources
and Energy, the Ministry of International Trade and Industry.
